Editable OCR text stays separate from the original page.
Private reading, contextual learning
A private place for manga you already own—where every speech bubble can become a small, useful Japanese lesson.
Original page first
Help only when you ask
Your library stays private
From volume to vocabulary
No side-by-side wall of machine output. The artwork remains the reading surface; language help appears in context.
Upload a CBZ, ZIP image bundle, or individual pages you have the right to use.
The processing pipeline finds Japanese text, keeps its place on the page, and prepares lookup-ready tokens.
Stay with the artwork. Open a word only when curiosity strikes, then continue from the same place.
Japanese, without the tab spiral
Editable OCR text stays separate from the original page.
Readings, parts of speech, and selected senses stay grounded in cited data.
Literal aid and natural translation are labeled, versioned, and never presented as facts.
Return to your page and optionally save words you met while reading.
Private-first by architecture
Uploads belong to one account and are never turned into a public catalog or social feed.
Processing messages carry IDs and private artifact keys—not page images or OCR text.
Dictionary facts and generated explanations remain distinct, sourced, and correctable.
Start with files you control
Encrypted files, remote URLs, nested archives, and DRM-protected content are not supported.
Current status
The local Cloudflare runtime, isolated storage bindings, tests, and delivery harness are running. Product capabilities are shipping in reviewable stages—without a fake demo or borrowed manga.
Questions, answered plainly
No. Manga Translator Reader is for private reading of files you legally obtained. It does not scrape, download, sell, or publicly share manga.
The first supported formats are CBZ, ZIP bundles of JPEG, PNG, or WebP pages, and individual page images. DRM-protected and remote-source files are not accepted.
No. OCR, tokenization, sense selection, and translation can be wrong. The interface keeps sources and confidence visible and lets corrections create a new revision.
The public site is live while the private reader is being completed in verified stages. We label shipped and early-access behavior instead of presenting a fake demo.
